We are developing next-generation models that understand, improvise, and connect to enable emotionally rich and realtime interactive storytelling. Combining new foundational roleplay models along with robust orchestration pipelines unlocks AI's full potential in interactive storytelling, avatar interaction, entertainment, and creative expression. Our work enables creators, developers, and users to build emotionally rich, persistent AI beings that feel present and meaningful.
Believable was founded by Jonathan Mak and Jeffrey Zhang, who are both Stanford engineers and researchers. Our founding team consists of world class talent with backgrounds in large-scale model training, avatar systems, multimodal pipelines, and product design, and we all have the common belief that the next major category of AI will be deeply human: behaving, performing, and evolving like real personalities.
Together, we’re building the technical and creative foundation for lifelike AI characters that can exist across apps, mediums, and worlds— from social avatar apps to roleplay, entertainment, education, and beyond.
